Fees and Policies

Service in the Church Sanctuary:   

Mandatory Fees:

$250.00          Location fee for non-members

$0                    Location fee contributing members           

$300.00            Minister (includes consultation)

$100.00           Custodian

$250.00           Music Director (includes consultation)

$150.00            Use of Ainslie or Ballantyne Hall following the service

Total fee is not negotiable whether or not the Music Director is required at the service.

POLICIES:

  • The funeral is a service of worship.  Anything that detracts from the purpose of the service should be eliminated.
  • If there is a Funeral Home participating, they must co-ordinate with the Worship & Music Committee regarding placement of flowers in the sanctuary/chapel, guest book and arrangement for donations
  • The family may use the audio-visual system, but this will be done in consultation with Wesley’s audio/visual technician. This may include livestreaming of the service (extra fees required).
  • There will be at least one meeting/consultation with the presiding minister before the service takes place. This will be to plan the service. 
  • Our minister should be responsible for all funeral / memorial services at Wesley United. Others may participate in the service with the approval of and in consultation with our minister and the Worship and Music Committee
  • All music for the service must be approved by the music director. The family will meet with the director of music prior to the service.  Plans for a soloist or instrumentalist(s)   should be discussed at that time.
  • The organ and piano may only be used by the director of music or his/her designate. The Director of Music must approve for either instrument to be used by anyone else.
  • No food or beverages are allowed in the sanctuary other than for communion.
